Thyssen-metals made from the best
Metals are not the same. The quality of the surface is the determining factor. Their quality is shown in the intergration of a belt cleaner into the existing production run.
Of course, this will need to be controlled by an intelligent register. Thyssen Metal AG has it. They are supportors of the innovative WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM - fieldbus independent bus module used in decentralized automation.
The Thyssen-plant in Finnentrop receives and processes coils of up to 26 t weight, up to 1550 mm width, and between 0,4 mm und 3,25 mm thick from its own cold rolling production. Customer specific.
Engineer Dieter Biendara (head of maintenance at Thyssen Steel): "We fulfill the demands of our large customers just like the small industies int he area". They all want the one thing:
Absolute quality.
Decentralized control boxes
The fully-automated belt cleaner is controlled with a mouse and pull-down menus. Using and visualizing is simutaneous. The personnel is only shortly dependent on the operation and path of the equipment.
Several sections divide the whole machine (2 for the containers containing acids and alkalines, 4 for the belt cleaner and the filtering device). Decentralized control boxes having WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM can be found on site -- brought in by Duisburger company E.I.M.G. (Elektro-Industrie-Montage GmbH & Co KG).
Reasons for choosing the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM
First: Sensors and actuators can be added in a decentralized automation solution, independent of the selected fieldbus.
Second: In creating a fieldbus node, an increased savings is apparent when a standard 2-pole input/output module is used instead of the 16 or 32 pole.
Third: Material costs for cables and modules along with installation time for the wiring are reduced because of the bus technology basis.
Fourth: The peripheral connection decision leaned toward the PROFIBUS. Because the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM is independent from the fieldbus, it allows other controllers to be coupled on, such as A250 from AEG Schneider Automation GmbH through the Interbus. Flexibility to the end!"
Everything adds together - so Büning - to a "noticable competitive edge: In addition: The WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM uses the original CAGE CLAMP®-connection - vibration safe, quick and maintenance-free.
