Faster, Smarter and More Functional:
New ETHERNET controller and coupler for industrial applications
WAGO has developed a new powerful "ETHERNET controller 2.0." The new controller allows fast processing PLC programs. Its large memory capacity has room for extensive PLC programs and Web applications. An ETHERNET fieldbus coupler has also been added to the product line, which for the first time features two ETHERNET interfaces provided by an integrated switch.
The new 750-881 ETHERNET Fieldbus Controller can be easily integrated into IT structures, providing a link between various signals from both field and IT applications. The "ETHERNET Controller 2.0" ideally combines real-time PLC with IT services.
The controller has a higher clock frequency and improved processing structure. The integrated PLC (programmable to IEC 61131-3) is capable of multitasking. These features allow for fast processing of PLC programs. One MB of program memory, 512 KB of data memory and 32 KB of non-volatile memory are available to the user, allowing larger PLC programs as well as a larger number of Web pages and formulations to be stored. An integrated switch simplifies networking fieldbuses in line topology, making separate switches in network unnecessary. The IP address can also be set via DIP switch, which simplifies commissioning. The controller supports standard network protocols as well as MODBUS/TCP and EtherNet/IP. The new 750-352 ETHERNET Coupler features two ETHERNET interfaces provided by an integrated switch. As with the controller, these interfaces simplify fieldbus wiring in line topology. The DIP switch configures the last byte of the IP address and may be used for IP address assignment, making commissioning easier. As with the controller, the new coupler supports fieldbus communication with ETHERNET/IP and MODBUS/TCP. Both devices will be available toward the end of the second quarter 2010.
