WAGO expands its range of fieldbus components for use in hazardous areas.
More than 30 further components of the WAGO-I/O SYSTEM have been awarded ATEX and IEC Ex Certification for temperatures up to 60°C. These include, for example, PROFIBUS couplers, ETHERNET control systems and various other I/O and specialty modules. With these certifications, including an extended upper-temperature range, these select WAGO components can readily serve even more diverse applications.
Nearly the entire WAGO-I/O SYSTEM is designed for use in hazardous and non-hazardous areas and certified for Device Group I and II, meaning they are suitable for firedamp underground excavations in addition to use in environments with high concentrations of gas and dust. Integration of intrinsically safe signals (4…20 mA, NAMUR, RTD, TC, etc.) from Zones 0/20 and 1/21 can be carried out directly via the system's Ex i I/O modules, enabling safe, reliable, economical and highly customized automation solutions to be implemented.
