"Alu-Plus" Contact Paste
Use WAGO's "Alu-Plus" when connecting any solid aluminium conductors with a WAGO spring clamp.
The nominal current will need to be lowered allowing for restrictions set on an aluminium conductor:
2,5 mm² = 16 A
4 mm² = 22 A

Application notes
WAGO "Alu-Plus" contact paste should be used for a safe connection between solid aluminium conductors (up to 4 mm² ) and WAGO spring clamp. Cleaning or greasing the aluminium conductor is not needed, since WAGO's "Alu-Plus" is injected directly into the conductor openings of the terminal block.
If there is a noticeable discolouring due to corrosion, a mechanical cleaning is necessary!
Afterwards, the cleaned solid aluminium conductor is simply connected (in multiple conductor terminal blocks, these can be mixed with copper wires).
WAGO "Alu-Plus"
- automatically destroys the oxide film upon clamping,
- inhibits any new oxidation at point of contact,
- prevents electrolytic corrosion between the aluminium and copper wires (within the same terminal block),
- offers a long term solution for corrosion protection.
WAGO "Alu-Plus" can also be applied on the aluminium conductor itself before connection.
