New PROFIsafe Modules with iPar Functionality
WAGO has expanded its WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM to include three new PROFIsafe modules (V2) with iPar functionality. These modules simplify the setting and configuration of safety-oriented functionalities. This provides greater flexibility for the input and output functions in adapting to sensor and actuator requirements via parameters.
Additionally, the modules support the automatic download of parameters to the respective controller through a PROFIsafe-compliant iPar server. The parameters can be set, backed up and documented using the WAGO-Safety-Editor. The new modules support the tool calling interface (TCI) up to conformance class 3, meaning the Safety-Editor can be easily integrated into corresponding TCI-compatible engineering systems. All three modules can be used both in connection with PROFIBUS as well as with PROFINET.
Filter times, discrepancy monitoring, valence, short-circuit, and cable break can be configured for one- and two-channel applications. Both modules are extremely compact, the 4-channel input module (4FDI) is 12 mm wide; the 8-channel input module (8FDI) and the 4-channel input/output module (4FDI/4FDO) are just 24 mm wide. LEDs on the modules indicate module and I/O status, as well as errors at a glance. The outputs of the 4FDI/4FDO module have a maximum output current of 2 A and the module is designed for a total current of 8 A.
