Tests and test procedures per IEC / EN Standards
Product-specific test instructions are present for the various products, e.g. connecting materials, modular terminals, plug-in connectors, etc.. The following sections with the most important tests are limited to a description of the test procedure and an explanation of the test purpose. The data shown, such as voltages, temperatures, forces, etc. only serve as illustration and may differ depending on the test.Mechanical testing
All WAGO products comply with the requirements of the following mechanical tests:

Electrical testing
All WAGO products comply with the requirements of the following electrical tests:
- Temperature rise test per IEC/EN 60947-7-1, IEC/EN 60998-1, IEC/EN 61984
- Derating curve per IEC/EN 60512-5-2
- Voltage drop test per IEC/EN 60947-7-1
- Short-time current withstand test (short-circuit test) per IEC/EN 60947-7-1
- Principles of isolation coordination per IEC/EN 60664-1
- Dielectric strength test with power-frequency withstand voltage per IEC/EN 60998-1
- Rated impulse withstand voltage per IEC/EN 60664-1

Material testing
All WAGO products comply with the requirements of the following material tests:
- Needle-flame test per IEC/EN 60695-2-2
- Glow wire test per IEC/EN 60998-1, IEC/EN 60695-2-11
Climatic testing
The following tests verify the behavior of a product in an adverse environment. Frequently occurring atmospheres possibly influencing the long-term constancy of terminal locations, are simulated in climate chambers.
All WAGO products comply with the requirements of the following climatic tests.
- Thermal cycling test per IEC/EN 60947-7-1, IEC/EN 60998-2-2
- Industrial atmospheres per EN ISO 6988, IEC 60068-2-42, IEC/EN 60068-2-60
