WAGO WINSTA® Pluggable Connection System in the Context of Construction Product Regulation (CPR)

WAGO offers cable assemblies within the WINSTA® Pluggable Connection System that have been tested to EN 50575 and comply with CPR requirements.

Construction Product Regulation (CPR)

With WAGO, you’ll be ready:

  • Halogen-free cable types
  • Cables according to the CPR in the WAGO catalog
  • Declarations of performance from the cable manufacturers are available from the download portal.
  • Item numbers stay the same.
  • Cables of all fire classes are available upon request.

Background

Cables that are permanently installed in structures fall under the European CPR. They are classified in uniform fire classes based on reaction to fire. The requirements are described in the harmonized standard hEN 50575:2014. Device connection cables that are directly connected to a load are an exception. All other cables must bear a CE conformance mark according to the CPR and a declaration of performance.

What does this mean for the WAGO WINSTA® Pluggable Connection System?

WAGO carries cable assemblies within the WINSTA® product range. These cable assemblies are construction product-compliant, as they are designed to standards for permanent installation in buildings, but are not covered by a uniform standard under the CPR. The scope of hEN 50575 only includes raw cables and no finished cables or cable assemblies. Thus, WAGO itself cannot issue any CE marking that adheres to the CPR or make any declaration of performance!

What safety does WAGO offer in the event of fire?

The numbers from various statistics clearly show that one of the most common causes of death in fires is exposure to toxic gases and smoke. To counteract this, we have long offered halogen-free cable types for the WINSTA® System.
