Comprehensive measurement functions
WAGO’s MID Energy Meters record energy, mains frequency, current, voltage, and power on all phases.
As four‑quadrant meters, they distinguish between delivery and consumption as well as between capacitive and inductive energy.
In addition, the devices enable measurement of energy consumption across up to four different tariffs.
Flexible Communication
A key feature is the wide range of available interfaces: In addition to Modbus RTU and two S0 interfaces, models with M-Bus, WiFi® and Bluetooth® Low Energy are also available.
ETHERNET‑based communication is also supported: The new three‑phase versions already include Modbus TCP. All other models can be enabled by adding the Modbus TCP module.
Intuitive Configuration
Configuration of the MID‑compliant energy meters is quick and convenient via the free WAGO App or the Web interface – without any programming effort.
The app also allows exporting current measurement data as a CSV file, which can be easily forwarded via email or other messaging services.
International certifications
WAGO’s energy meters are highly versatile thanks to numerous approvals: All devices comply with the European Measuring Instruments Directive 2014/32/EU (MID Directive) and the German Measurement and Verification Ordinance (MessEV). Versions featuring the integrated Open Charge Metering Format (OCMF) also meet the PTB‑A50.7 requirements for legally compliant public charging stations.
Easy Wiring
Whether solid, fine‑stranded, or equipped with ferrules – the push‑in connection technology with lever provides fast and easy wiring. In addition to saving time, the CAGE CLAMP® connection technology increases safety: It ensures a permanently secure connection throughout the service life, preventing issues such as overheated contact points.
First‑class performance in the control cabinet: The three‑phase versions feature flexibly oriented connection points (U or S connection) and a rotatable display – enabling easy integration into new and existing applications. At the same time, the compact versions with one or two modular widths save significantly more space than conventional meters with four modular widths.
Direct‑Measuring Meters
Direct‑measuring meters measure current flow directly. They are ideal for applications up to 65 A – for example, billing in public and semi‑public environments or monitoring energy quantities. The portfolio includes both single‑phase and three‑phase versions with various modular widths and optional U or S connection.
Transformer‑Connected Meters
Transformer‑connected meters measure current using current transformers that step down high currents. They are suitable for larger applications above 65 A – for example, in industrial systems or main supply connections. WAGO offers a three‑phase version with two modular widths and a U connection.
Modbus TCP Module
The supplementary Modbus TCP Module prepares your systems for ETHERNET‑based communication: It adds this valuable interface to WAGO energy meters that are equipped with Modbus RTU as standard, opening up new application possibilities. The add‑on module connects directly – no additional wiring effort.
Direct Meters with Integrated OCMF
Ideal for calibration‑compliant charging stations in public areas, WAGO's energy meters with integrated “Open Charge Metering Format” (OCMF) meet the requirements of PTB‑A50.7. The meters are available in three‑phase variants with U and S connections and are designed for applications rated up to 65 amperes.
WAGO's energy meters are designed for comprehensive energy consumption measurement and, thanks to MID certification, can also be used for consumption‑based billing. Find out more in the video.
Reliable Data for the Energy Transition
Decentralized energy generation and electromobility are key elements of the energy transition and require a shift toward advanced energy concepts. In addition to many technological challenges, two core values play a major role: accuracy and trust – the domain of MID‑certified WAGO Energy Meters.

Plug-In Current Transformers for Billing Measurement
Plug-In Current Transformers for Billing Measurement
Plug-in current transformers for billing measurements are inductive, single-conductor current transformers. Due to the measurement principle used, these current transformers are exclusively designed for AC network applications.
These plug-in current transformers comply with the conformity assessment procedure (module D) and can be used for billing.
