Multi-Channel Electronic Circuit Breakers (ECBs)

The multi-channel ECBs are available in 2-, 4- and 8-channel versions. These circuit breakers provide reliable protection against overload and short circuits. With a compact 32 mm (1.26 inch) width, they offer high channel density while saving space in the control cabinet. In addition, the connectors are protected against mismating and allow for pre-wiring, significantly reducing installation time. Digital inputs and outputs enable collective signaling in the event of a trip and centralized reset of all tripped channels.

Key Benefits

  • Wide range of variants: 2-, 4-, or 8-channel circuit breakers; versions with active current limiting (2-channel models)
  • Precise protection against overload and short circuit: Reliable tripping behavior, even with small conductor cross-sections; compliant with EN 60204-1 by reliably disconnecting ground faults within 5 seconds
  • Space-saving design: Compact housing: Only 32 mm (1.26 inch) wide for 4- or 8-channel versions; front-entry wiring with pluggable spring pressure connection technology saves space
  • Easy wiring: Fast and secure front-entry wiring using pluggable connectors with mismating protection via CAGE CLAMP® technology
  • Flexible configuration: Channel-specific tripping current selection: 0.5 ... 10 A (up to 16 A in parallel operation); module-level configuration of signaling behavior
  • Signaling: Collective signal output (e.g., to indicate if any channel has tripped due to overcurrent); individual channel status via integrated multicolor LED

Simplified Communication

Digital Signaling (DI/DO)

  • The digital input (DI) serves as a remote input for collectively resetting all tripped channels.
  • The digital output (DO) provides a collective signal indicating whether any channel has tripped due to overcurrent.
  • Simple collective signaling is enabled via push-in type jumper bars.
