In this interview, Pascal Muth tells us why he chose to train and then work at WAGO, what his daily work routine looks like as a specialist in inventory management and how he manages to balance his private and professional lives.
Introduce yourself and tell us how you came to WAGO.
I am Pascal Muth, 26 years old, and after graduating from high school in 2016, I began my training as an industrial business management assistant at WAGO. After three years of training and successfully passing the exam, I took over the position of Administrator in Plastics Manufacturing. I worked there for three years, during which time I also completed a business administration degree at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Then this year came an opportunity: Since a position in Logistics as an Inventory Management Specialist came open, I was able to apply for it in order to take the next step and specialize further. I took the position on May 1, 2022 and am very happy with it.
Why did you choose WAGO as your employer?
For us in Thuringia, and above all in the North Thuringia region, WAGO is a beacon as an employer. The working conditions, including the social aspects, that WAGO offers its employees, and also such an interesting working environment, are rarely found here in the surrounding area. WAGO is also rooted in the Kyffhäuser district, as am I. That’s why it was easy for me to decide on training at WAGO.
They work in Logistics, an area that has grown significantly in recent years. What activities are covered by your responsibilities?
I'm an inventory management specialist. I support our German logistics plants and foreign plants (Switzerland, Poland, China, etc.) in the event of errors or questions in inventory management. In our department, I am explicitly responsible for SAP ERP. For example, I correct inventories that show an excess or shortage of stock or handle anomalies in interaction with the Cost Accounting department. To do this, I clean up old orders that have not been delivered, or feed containers that have no goal to the correct destination. In the process, I also train employees to minimize sources of error.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The teamwork here in Logistics! I have joined a great and functional team here, where we tackle and master the tasks together.
How do you succeed in reconciling your personal life and work?
WAGO offers many options for achieving an excellent work-life balance. These types of things, such as flexible working hours or home offices, give me the opportunity to reconcile my personal life with my professional life.
What is your personal WAGO moment of success?
My personal WAGO moment of success has been the development from trainee to administrative position up to the specialist role in Logistics. I am now able to help build “WAVE 24,” our new central warehouse.
