E-Mobility – WAGO Solutions for Safe Power Transmission and Management

E-mobility is the present and the future of the automotive industry. WAGO stays committed to building a more sustainable future by working in the direction of making E-mobility a success.

The rise in the demand for greener transportation options has fueled the growth of electric mobility on a worldwide scale.

Bloomberg New Energy Finance expects EVs to account for 10% of all new car sales by 2025 and 58% by 2040. For EV sector, the primary consideration is to secure the battery, the heart of electric mobility, so that it can function well even in a challenging operating environment.

Shaping Sustainable Future Together

The rapid expansion of electromobility is acting as a driver for the energy revolution. With environmental awareness on the rise, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution has become a global sustainability target.

With reliable solutions, we support our partners in shaping a sustainable future by making
e-mobility success.

Ensuring Electric Vehicle Battery Safety

Ensuring safety is a significant consideration for the battery industry. Battery is the most sensitive and one of the most expensive parts of electric mobility. Most designers of battery-related applications face a challenge in keeping the battery in good condition for a longer period.

Ensuring the safe functioning of electric vehicle batteries at all times is now a priority. Connectors play a pivotal role as they provide secure power transmission for the output of the battery's energy.

Fast, reliable, and consistent safe charging has been a priority. In response to increasing demand for fast charging, battery designers aim to design batteries that can be charged from 0% to 100% in no time. However, danger may occur as this model inevitably creates potentially dangerous high heat. Thus, components of battery-related applications are the crucial factor that can influence the stable operation of the battery.

Connector, playing the role of a vital component, is used to attach batteries in a formation rectifier circuit. It acts as a bridge that joins electric circuits together. Its function is simple, but if not used or designed correctly, it can have devastating effects. A poor connection may cause high resistance, an electrical short circuit, high heat condition, and even may explode the battery. Thus, choosing a high-quality and solid connector is critical.

Meanwhile, the challenging operating environment is a concern; battery related-applications such as e-bikes, e-scooters, cargo bikes, and battery chargers that must be operated outdoors are exposed to water, dust, and harsh temperatures. A strong design with an anti-vibration connector is also required because vibration and shock to a battery can limit its lifespan or harm the battery pack's structure.
