Telecontrol Technology

Whether electrical power, gas, water or heat: Given the increasing decentralization of energy generation and integrated grids – sector coupling too – data transfer volumes and communication tasks grow steadily. As the telecontrol technology supplier, WAGO has just the solution – secure, economical and primed for the future.

Although the task is basically connecting remotely distanced devices, systems and substations to the SCADA system via telecontrol (RTU), each application case does bring its own unique challenges. WAGO Telecontrol Stations (RTU) adapt to these circumstances with corresponding solution applications and architectures – compact, mobile and compatible.

The Benefits for You:

  • Easy-to-use remote control interface
  • Integrated Telecontrol Station (RTU) for automation tasks
  • Solutions available for GSM, radio and wired
  • Hardening in compliance with BDEW White Paper possible
  • Direct integration of intrinsically safe signals thanks to modular Ex i

WAGO Telecontrol Technology for Renewable Energy Systems

WAGO Telecontrol Technology supports the management of renewable energy plants (EEG systems). It ensures smooth communication with the grid operator and direct marketer. This allows the players delay-free access to the systems. So you are assured of the constant monitoring of the systems‘ grid connection needed to maintain proper supply to the power grid requires. Grid variables such as voltage, current and frequency are recorded and continuously sent to the plant control system to ensure an immediate response to defined limiting values that have been exceeded.

WAGO Telecontrol Technology in Gas Supply

Safe, secure gas supply requires persistent monitoring and control of gas pressure regulating systems and coupling stations. For instance, WAGO Telecontrol Technology helps safely and reliably regulate pressure in pressure reduction stations. Independence from fielbuses enables integrating third-party systems. The telecontrol station (RTU) is open to protocols, simplifying connection to the central control system. And intrinsically safe I/O modules permit integration of signals from Ex Zones 0, 1 and 2. The integrated Web visualization allows display of processes on site or via remote access.

WAGO telecontrol technology supports wind farm management and ensures smooth communication with the grid operator, direct marketer and turbine operator. This allows the players delay-free access to the system. This is because maintaining proper supply from the turbines to the power grid requires constant monitoring of the systems‘ grid connection. Grid variables such as voltage, current and frequency are recorded and continuously sent to the plant control system to ensure an immediate response to defined limiting values that have been exceeded.

WAGO Telecontrol Technology for Distribution Grids

In distribution grids, decentralized generators, storage systems and controllable loads, such as emergency generators or production systems, form a flexible and adjustable combination – referred to as a virtual power station. Intelligently synchronizing these reduces loads on the power grid. With WAGO telecontrol technology, joining EEG systems with virtual power plants is quick and easy.

For Standards and Extremes

Robust and highly tolerant: Whether temperature fluctuations, vibrations, shocks or electromagnetic interference – retrofit telecontrol technology according to your needs and requirements. The WAGO 750 Series PLC – ready for standard applications or extreme uses.

Reliable Telecontrol Technology

The world’s fossil fuel supply is finite, and global warming is already well underway. Failure is not an option for the energy transition. Telecontrol technology will play a special role in the implementation, since the electricity, gas, water and heat infrastructures in particular involve spread-out service areas and remote stations.
