Cuando se le solicita, el M-Bus maestro lee los datos de consumo de energía a través de la línea de M-Bus de dos conductores y transmite estos datos al sistema de control de nivel superior para su posterior tratamiento o visualización. Por otro lado, las consultas al PLC se pueden implementar a través del PLC con los módulos funcionales CEI 61131-3 o una aplicación para PC.</p><p>El M-Bus maestro sirve de fuente de alimentación de los M-Bus esclavos. No es necesario utilizar un convertidor independiente.
