FlexROOM® is WAGO’s scalable room automation solution and is particularly suited to large and medium-sized office and administrative buildings. It can be used both in new buildings and for energy modernization projects

and offers all the relevant room functions for lighting, shading and climate control. Thus flexROOM® provides the basis for achieving energy efficiency class A per EN 15232 and supports the certification of your building as a sustainable green building, e.g., per national and international system like DGNB or LEED.

The ready-made application solution allows automation without significant programming effort.

It offers a Web-based graphical user interface for integrating and configuring lights, sunblinds, actuators, sensors and room control units. The concept is based on segments as the smallest functional units within buildings in which room automation functions are performed across all building systems. This segment-oriented concept allows a flexible association of office space with rooms or open-space areas throughout the entire lifecycle of the building.

The application solution allows direct connection of Thermokon Sensortechnik GmbH’s Novos Series Room Operating Units. It also supports a wide selection of EnOcean® wireless room control units and sensors, so integrating the right control unit for your application is never a problem. MP-Bus is now an integral component of the flexROOM® application, allowing use of intelligent valve actuators for distributed sensors and cost-effective cabling.

WAGO's user-friendly room automation solution allows offices and entire floors to be redistributed at any time. The PFC200 Controller, including preconfigured software application, maximizes potential energy savings and convenience.

Energy Efficiency

Planning, commissioning and building operation must demonstrate maximum efficiency and a high degree of adaptability. For this reason, flexROOM® was specifically developed for projects with a large number of identical rooms, such as office and administrative buildings, as well as schools.

Lighting

flexROOM® skillfully sets up lighting scenes – from simple switching and dimming up to tailored daylight-dependent lighting controls.
In rooms with incident daylight that do not always need full lighting, flexROOM® makes intelligent use of constant artificial lighting to bridge the gap between the required brightness levels and the current amount of daylight. Thanks to a light sensor, lighting levels remain constant; the lighting control system automatically turns the artificial light up when the outside light decreases and down when it increases.

Sun Protection

Modern architecture in new buildings is using glass facades more and more. Glass lets plenty of daylight into interior spaces while improving occupant comfort and reducing interference such as reflections. However, high light penetration can lead to overheated rooms – particularly in the summer. The high temperatures and direct sunlight affect not only occupants, but plants and furniture as well. With flexROOM®, you reduce energy costs for heating, cooling and artificial lighting. An automated sun protection system with seasonal sunscreening also contributes to climate protection and minimizes the use of fossil fuels.

Heating and Cooling

flexROOM® includes every vital function, from setpoint adjustment to heating/cooling valve control. Room users are able to change the pre-defined setpoint. When occupants leave a room or open a window, its temperature is lowered. The energy consumption of unoccupied rooms is minimized.

Configuring – Not Programming

flexROOM® offers a Web interface for configuration. Both the commissioning technician and the end user can configure the controls for each room via Web browser, regardless of their location and the distribution box in use.

Additional Functions

In addition to the room segments, special use areas, such as stairways, corridors or sanitary facilities, can be automated using specially designed flexROOM® versions.
