In the entryway at SPIE Buchmann GmbH, electrical components from long ago stand on both sides. They are no longer used these days; they are rather of a symbolic nature – a kind of bridge between the past and future – since, as part of their training, young employees should also see what the technology looked like 50, 60 or 70 years ago, emphasizes Gerhard-Peter Adams.
SPIE Buchmann GmbH’s customer base has also been shaped by the past. Since the company was established in 1954, it has undergone growth in many different areas: from industry to public contracts, from medium-voltage technology to large installation projects, all the way to extra-low voltage systems. SPIE Buchmann GmbH, with locations in Illingen and Losheim am See in Saarland and Kaiserslautern in Rhineland-Palatinate, currently has just under 200 employees at the Illingen location, in areas ranging from power engineering and large installation projects to extra-low voltage systems, fire alarm systems and video monitoring systems.
As nostalgic as the collection in the entryway may appear, the company believes in always looking forward to the future. SPIE Buchmann employee Maximal Scherf is particularly open to new ideas and places great value on further education. He started as an installer in control cabinet manufacturing; two years ago, he was promoted to the Planning, Dimensioning and Product Implementation department.
The future and progress are two key concepts for this technical advisor in general.
“The electrical trade is currently evolving and undergoing enormous progress in just a brief period of time – there are various interesting directions for further education. One part of this change is the WAGO Rail-Mount Terminal Block TOPJOB® S with lever,” says Maximilian Scherf.
And the reason why will be come clear soon ...
