Telecontrol Connection for Customer Substations

Whether power generation plants, storage systems or load customers: When it comes to the medium-voltage connection, customer substations need to be linked through telecontrol technology. Even though the TCRs (technical connection rules) vary from one grid operator to another, in about three-quarters of German medium-voltage grid territories, WAGO’s Customer Substation software application lets you establish the connection in just ten minutes because the application offers standardized, pre-configured software for various grid territories.

In addition, WAGO can offer solutions for your company’s specific level of programming expertise and staffing according to your specific needs, whether for system integration, switchgear manufacturing or station building.

Advantages:

  • Industry-proven telecontrol technology hardware; hardened per BDEW white paper
  • Easy software parameterization with no programming per VDE-AR-N 4110
  • Complete solution of hard- and software in a finished control cabinet

Manufacturer Declaration and Type Testing per FGW-TR3:
WAGO Has the Solution

New Requirements for Certification of Power Plants

Since October 1, 2024, power plant operators must provide a manufacturer's declaration as proof when operating the first unit in parallel with the grid or when updating a system certificate. Starting March 1, 2025, an accredited type test per FGW-TR3 will also be required to meet legal requirements. WAGO, through early certification in compliance with the VDE-AR-N 4110 specifications, is already well prepared and fully meets these requirements. Certificate FGH-K-2023-002 confirms WAGO's prioritization of performance requirements, ensuring a seamless transition.

WAGO Application Customer Substation – New Features

Primary and Secondary Stations

The master/slave concept (primary/substation) of the KÜS enables projects with two or more separate controllers. The primary station is the central controller, acting as a gateway to the network operator. It collects system data and provides it via an IEC-60870-5-104 interface. The substations record system data and forward it through the internal bus system to the primary station, which assumes control. The system is VDE-ARN-4110 certified and supports the connection of PV systems, direct marketers and grid operators. Substations are primarily used for recording digital signals.
