The 221 from WAGO – flexible, fast and safe

Pull the lever up, insert a conductor and push the lever back down – done! The 221 Series Splicing Connector connects solid, stranded and fine-stranded conductors easily, quickly and safely.

But this connector wants to do more!
The 221 Series Splicing Connector is well-suited for the following applications in:

The Unbeatable Benefits of the 221

Pull the lever up, insert a conductor and push the lever back down – done!

Advantages of the 221 Series Splicing Connector for all conductor types ranging in size from 0.14 to 6 mm2 (26–10 AWG):

  • Connect solid, stranded and fine-stranded conductors
  • Save time for installers and device manufacturers
  • Quickly install devices with higher power consumption
  • Safely install long cable runs with larger conductor cross sections
Conductor Range

Two Sizes for All Conductor Types

Quickly and easily connect all conductor types of different cross sections using two-, three-, and five-wire connectors. The new connectors accommodate fine-stranded conductors from 0.14 to 4 mm2, as well as solid and stranded conductors from 0.2 to 4 mm2 (24–12 AWG). With the 6 mm2 (10 AWG) variant, you can connect all conductor types – with cross sections from 0.5 to 6 mm2 (2−10 AWG).

Easier Actuation

Extremely Easy to Use

You can open WAGO’s splicing connectors easily and quickly. Opening the levers on the 221 Series takes very little effort. This means you can connect conductors quickly – and without any tools! While you are connecting the conductor, recessed handles on the sides ensure an easy, secure grip on the connector.

Test Slots

Two Test Slots

With the new 221 Series Splicing Connectors, you can now test the voltage from two different sides – even when they are installed. The connectors have two test slots right where the WAGO imprint appears: one in the conductor entry direction and one on the opposite side. This accessibility provides extremely convenient testing conditions, even after installation, within a wide range of applications. All connector variants also provide a secure contact for all standard test probes.

Mounting carrier

The 221 Series Conquers the Distribution Cabinet

Mounting carriers are available for every 221 Series Splicing Connector – whether the two-, three- or five-wire model. They can be mounted vertically as well as horizontally. Secure the carrier by snapping it onto the DIN-rail, or with screws on smooth surfaces. The flexible mounting clamps simplify both connector insertion and removal. Conductors can be conveniently connected and removed before or after inserting a connector into the carrier. One test slot is always accessible, ensuring compliance with VDE standards.

Mounting carrier

221 Series Mounting Carrier Now Available in New Colors

The new color versions in dark gray/yellow and blue underscore the clear recognizability of the distributions of neutral and PE conductors in the distribution box, which are achieved conveniently with the WAGO 221. These assemblies also ensure quick and easy expansion of neutral or PE distribution with the 221 Series connection terminals up to 6 mm2. The clear installation allows faster troubleshooting and maintenance.

Bringing Order to the Chaos, Even with Many Wires

Whether you are connecting a heating system or light distributions – things can get confusing wherever multiple cables meet. WAGO’s Junction Box helps you connect up to 60 conductors with WAGO’s 221 Series COMPACT Splicing Connector for all conductor types up to 4 mm2 (12 AWG). It creates a large-scale, fixed position of the clamping points on one level for both flush-mounted and surface-mounted cables. A total of 12 strain relief devices allow convenient and safe cable entry and fastening. The clearly visible labeling options of each terminal point ensure that you not only have an overview, but also maintain it. Real-world examples include quickly identifying the circuit while upgrading or troubleshooting, retrofitting the installation or correcting errors. Since the junction box can be freely positioned, a host of possible applications exists in a wide variety of worksites. The tool-free and maintenance-free connection technology of the 221 Series Splicing Connector ensures fast wiring, easy rewiring and a secure connection.

The Benefits for You:

  • Simple, quick and safe connection of up to 60 conductors
  • A clear, structured arrangement that’s secured on one level
  • Clearly visible labeling of each individual clamping unit
