Energy Efficiency Classes per DIN EN 15232

European standard EN 15232 (Energy performance of buildings – Impact of Building Automation, Controls and Building Management) categorizes building automation and control devices into four energy efficiency classes from A to D. The situation is markedly different in a shopping center, in a cinema, at the airport or in a production facility – wherever large groups meet, a sudden lighting failure can quickly lead to critical situations. Even more dangerous is when there is a real emergency occurring at the same time, such as a fire or heavy smoke. In such cases, lighting must be used to ensure that all the people inside the building can find the quickest way out.

PROFINET Managed Switches for Industrial Automation

Three new PROFINET Switches join WAGO's line of industrial switches. Stemming from WAGO’s decades of industrial expertise and backed by the PROFINET CC-B certificate, these new switches can be reliably used in PROFINET networks. They offer both simple integration via device description files and optional cyclic diagnostics via PROFINET. Furthermore, the WAGO PROFINET Switches support the SNMP protocol, provide port speeds of 100 or 1000 Mbit/s and comply with the UL-61010 standard.

Zero Emissions, Doubly Safeguarded

Supported by the Arctic University of Norway in Narvik (UiT) and funded by the Norwegian government, the shipbuilders at Grovfjord Mekaniske Verksted (GMV) have developed an energy management system (EMS) for a zero-emission ship with an all-electric drive.
