Innovate beyond Compliance

Sustainability Reporting Requirements at the Corporate Level

Assuming the national implementation of the EU Omnibus Regulation takes place as planned, we will be subject to a reporting requirement in accordance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and EU Taxonomy Regulation starting in fiscal year 2027 (2028 Report).

To meet this obligation, we have set up two interdisciplinary projects, building on existing structures and experience from our earlier voluntary sustainability reporting.

We see the CSRD and EU taxonomy as more than just regulatory requirements – they offer concrete levers for refining our sustainability strategy with an integrated, data-based approach.

Substance Compliance

Compliance with material regulations, such as REACH, RoHS and the POP Regulation, is a high priority for us. In addition, we are already working to analyze our products and supply chains in terms of possible use of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) and preparing for future restrictions. To reliably meet legal requirements and minimize risks in the supply chain, we have established binding internal standards and processes.
Our Environmental Product Compliance Standard defines central substance bans and restrictions, as well as information and take-back obligations. It also requires our suppliers to meet these standards. We take a multi-stage approach involving material analyses, supplier queries and system-supported technical documentation.
We provide our customers with REACH and RoHS declarations and information on the SCIP number via a freely accessible online tool: Environmental Product Compliance Search

Product Recycling

We follow product recycling regulations, such as the WEEE (Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive 2012/19/EU, the Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 and the Packaging Directive 94/62/EC. In 2026, the latter will be replaced by the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). We are currently preparing to meet the associated requirements.

Looking towards Future Regulatory Requirements

We proactively monitor new regulatory developments so we can react promptly and ensure product conformity in the future. We are actively involved in committees, including ZVEI and VDMA, as well as public consultations.
We are already working to analyze our products and supply chains in terms of possible use of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) and preparing for future restrictions. We are also following the development of the new Ecodesign Regulation (ESPR), particularly with regard to requirements concerning product lifespan, reparability and digital product passports. In connection with the EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation), we are evaluating raw materials and supply chains that might be affected, with a focus on traceability and due diligence under the new regulation.
