Power with Communication for Industry 4.0

The design of the WAGO Pro 2 Power Supply allows you to either read important operating parameters right off the front panel or retrieve additional valuable data via a controller. This data enables you to assess operating situations in real time and make reasoned decisions about your next steps. The WAGO Pro 2 Power Supply has various functions and components for precisely this purpose.

For data collection and read-out of status information, the Pro 2 Power Supply can be connected to a dedicated communication module at any time, allowing selection of the desired protocol for coupling with the automation and control level.

The LED bar chart on the front reliably indicates the current output power, as well as overloads and load reserves. The LEDs also indicate the selected operating mode; in addition, they can even signal warnings and errors.

Interface Configuration Software for the WAGO Pro 2 Power Supply

The configuration function can be used to configure the overload behavior of the power supply, for example. In addition to TopBoost and PowerBoost, the ECB functionality can also be selected in mechanical engineering applications to ensure compliance with the requirements of EN 60204.

With 150 % PowerBoost, 600 % TopBoost and further parameterizable overload behavior, the WAGO Power Supply Pro 2 protects and power systems with its intelligent power management. Standby mode also prevents unnecessary energy consumption during downtime.

The Benefits for You:

  • TopBoost allows up to 600% output voltage for 15 milliseconds in the event of a short circuit and safely triggers thermomagnetic circuit breakers.

  • PowerBoost provides 150 % of the output power for a maximum of five seconds, allowing faster capacitor charging and reliable and capacitive load switching.

  • Electronic circuit breaker (ECB) included – you can also use Pro 2 as a single-channel ECB very conveniently via the software.

  • Configurable signal contacts – take advantage of standby mode and warning and alarm messages via software-configurable digital inputs and outputs.

Small but powerful: Though they may seem minor, differences in the technical data can have big effects: A typical a simple power supply with nominal power of 960 W achieves 91 % efficiency. In contrast, our Pro 2 Power Supply achieves 96.3 % efficiency. At first glance, it doesn’t seem like 5.3 percent would matter much, but it actually makes all the difference: The Pro 2 Power Supplies’ higher efficiency eliminates 37 W of power loss. Calculated over a five-year operating period, this amounts to savings of about 1,500 kWh – which corresponds to the annual consumption of a two-person household.
