Pull the orange lever up, insert a stripped conductor, and push lever back down - done. WAGO's 221 Series compact splicing connectors easily, quickly, and safely connect solid, stranded, and fine stranded wires ranging from 24-10 AWG (0.14-6mm2)

The new 221 Ex Series (gray levers) brings you all the features you love of the 221, now for extreme and hazardous applications. 221 Ex must be used in conjunction with the mounting carrier to fulfill Ex requirements.

Two Sizes for All Wire Types

Quickly and easily connect all wire types of different sizes using 2-, 3-, and 5-wire connectors. The original model connectors accommodate all wire types ranging from 24 to 12 AWG. A 10 AWG model connects all conductor types ranging from 20-10 AWG. The 221 Ex model accommodates all wire types from 24-12 AWG with a 10 AWG model (20-12 AWG) scheduled for release in the near future.

Two Test Slots

Now you can perform testing from two different sides with the new 221 Series - even when it is installed.

The new 221 Series connectors have two test slots: One in the direction of wire insertion and one on the opposite side. These test slots ensure convenient testing, even when the connectors are installed and in varying installation environments. They also provide good contact for all standard test probes.

Simple Handling

These splicing connectors can be opened very easily and quickly.

The operating levers of the 221 Series require minimal operating force to be opened, enabling fast connection of wires – without the use of any tools! The recessed grips on the side also prevent slipping and make it easier to hold the connector while inserting the wire.

WAGO's 221 Series Conquers Distribution Cabinets

The new mounting carriers are available for all 221 Series Splicing Connectors (2, 3 and 5 conductors) and can be installed either vertically or horizontally. Secure the carrier by simply snapping it onto the DIN-rail or using screws on smooth surfaces. Flexible mounting clamps simplify both connector insertion and removal.

Thanks to its convenient design, the new carrier is just as easy to use as a 221 splice. Conductors can be conveniently connected and removed before or after inserting a connector into the carrier. The design also ensures that a test slot is always accessible, making the carrier compliant with valid VDE standards. In addition, the carrier provides space for custom labeling.
