Cloud Connectivity

With WAGO Controllers, you can perform edge computing by preprocessing data or transmitting it directly. Cloud connectivity brings your Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) project to life.

Use MQTT with Publish/Subscribe (Pub/Sub) for local data exchange between controllers, integration with SCADA systems, various cloud providers, or IoT solutions — whether cloud-based or on-premises.

Thanks to the wide range of interfaces on WAGO Controllers, integrating third-party devices into the cloud is easy. Use WAGO controllers as IoT gateways for maximum flexibility in your projects.

Use Two Cloud Systems in Parallel

Multi-Cloud Connectivity

Multi-cloud connectivity lets you execute different tasks in the most suitable cloud application. For example, you can set up a redundant system: if Broker 1 is unavailable, data is automatically sent to Broker 2 — or simultaneously to both.

You can also split data: send critical data to a local MQTT broker and less critical data to the cloud. Configuration is handled via the device’s Web-Based Management (WBM), while programming occurs as usual in CODESYS.

Installed on WAGO’s PFC Controllers and Control Panels, machine data can be transmitted via MQTT to virtually any cloud — including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, SAP Cloud, or other platforms.

There, the information can be aggregated and used for analysis. This creates real added value for your business — whether by increasing efficiency in your own production, optimizing energy management, or developing new end-customer services.

Full Control at Any Time

Using the Web-Based Management interface of WAGO Controllers, you can configure cloud connection data individually. The IEC library for CODESYS lets you define which information is transmitted to the cloud or processed locally on the controllers — ensuring you retain full control over your data at all times.

Status information from the controller — such as run/stop status, connection status, and device data — can also be integrated into a cloud solution via cloud connectivity or distributed via an MQTT broker. The required library is available in the Download Center and enables programming with CODESYS.
