Milestones in the 2020s

2021

New SOLUTIONS Business Unit

With the founding of the new SOLUTIONS business unit, WAGO relies on solutions that are tailored precisely to customer requirements and applications, simultaneously saving resources, time and money through efficiency and sustainability.

2021

Focus on the Energy Transition

With its new business unit, WAGO is expanding its portfolio to include complete system solutions for the building technology, energy distribution, infrastructure networking, mechanical and systems engineering, industrial production systems and the railway industry markets. The focus is on applications from smart energy, smart buildings and smart factories that help drive the energy transition.

2021

WAGO Inline Splicing Connector with Levers

WAGO expands its 221 Series Splicing Connectors with a trend-setting conductor connection for all conductor types from 0.2 to 4 mm². The inline splicing connector with levers allows universal conductor termination in the feedthrough direction.

2021

All the Benefits of the 221 Series with a Slim Design

Unparalleled simplicity, speed and reliability – that’s what the new WAGO Inline Splicing Connector stands for. WAGO's Inline Splicing Connector condenses the industry-leading 221 Series Splicing Connectors’ advantages into a slim design. Offering unsurpassed simplicity, speed and reliability, the 221 Series’ levers provide tool-free universal conductor connections and a transparent housing for confirming conductor contact at a glance. As a universal connection technology, it is not only suitable for familiar installation applications in tight spaces but also opens up many new and different ones, such as the inline connection of installation lines in distribution boxes or flying leads. It is ideal for lab and test setups or production test stands, requires no tools and provides visible confirmation of conductor contact.

2023

WAGO 221 Green Range

WAGO redesigns the best-selling connector of its 221 series and launches it as the Green Range. The connector is partly made of bio-circular and recycled plastics – with the same technical properties and certifications as the original. With this, WAGO sends a clear message: nothing is too small to make a positive contribution to the environment.

2024

50 Years of the Splicing Connector

When WAGO launched the splicing connector in 1974, it revolutionized electrical installation. To mark the 50th aniversary, the company celebrates a true product icon – with an international campaign and a specially composed birthday anthem. The melody is based on the number of the original spring clamp patent. For half a century, the phrase “Got to have a WAGO” has stood for pace, safety, and reliability on construction sites around the world.

2025

30 Years of Automation

In 1995, WAGO entered the automation market with a modular, fieldbus-independent I/O system. 30 years later, WAGO offers customers a broad portfolio of automation products – developed and produced by a global team of automation experts. What began small has become a key business area.
