Sustainability Ambassador Empowerment

Joining Forces for Greater Sustainability

Through Sustainability Ambassador Empowerment, WAGO is establishing a structure to support targeted promotion of sustainability topics in all corporate divisions. The Sustainability Ambassador Network is a living network of motivated employees with the goal of integrating a sustainability mindset into all WAGO divisions at both the national and international level and collaborating on sustainability topics. Regular meetings of sustainability ambassadors will promote cross-divisional dialog, while the network undergoes continuous refinement and sharpening of its international focus. Under the rubric of empowerment, another goal is to use target-group-specific formats, such as basic training and sales support materials, to empower employees to actively contribute to sustainability in their everyday work.

WAGO Kickbox – Innovation from Within

With its internal Kickbox innovation program, WAGO is creating a structured platform for targeted promotion of ideas originating within the workforce. The goal is to encourage employees to develop and implement their own ideas independently. They receive support through workshops, regular communication and training.

Kickbox is based on the lean startup approach and offers a clear innovation process, all the way from idea generation, to validation, to implementation. One successful outcome of the program has been the development of the 221 Series Green Range, which grew out of an employee’s idea.

In this way, Kickbox helps promote sustainable innovations from within the company and actively contribute to the transformation.

Social Commitment

We take social responsibility beyond our core business as well. The form our involvement takes is location-specific, meaning we conduct different activities in different regions. We maintain partnerships with recognized organizations and initiatives, some of which have been in place for many years. All of this also benefits from our employees’ enthusiasm and drive.

In the future, we want to further strengthen our social contribution. To do so, we are currently developing a company-wide process for selecting social projects and volunteer work. The goal is to establish clear decision-making criteria to align our activities even more effectively and strategically.
