Less Time, Less Exertion, Higher Performance for Control Cabinet Manufacturing

How can professional tools streamline control cabinet manufacturing?

Digitalized and automated processes are shaping the day-to-day work of control cabinet manufacturing more and more. All the work steps are designed to increase efficiency and optimize processes. Yet despite all this digitization, a great deal of the work in circuit cabinet manufacturing still involves manual assembly! The fact that over 70 % of the installation work relies on manual activity makes optimization of mechanical component placement and wiring all the more important. Wherever stripping, crimping and measuring cables and wires are required, high-quality ergonomic tools say significant time and make work processes more efficient. WAGO professional tools not only help reduce defects – they also make the work faster and easier!

Professional Tools for Every Job

WAGO tools boast a functionally and ergonomically refined design backed with quality certified per DIN standards. Tools that electricians and control cabinet constructors can trust!

Main Benefits of WAGO Tools

  • Simple, precise and safe operation
  • Time savings and process security
  • Economical and environmentally friendly

Sheath Stripping

Fast and safe cable and wire stripping is one of the most important tasks in circuit cabinet installation. Titanium nitride blade coating for low wear and non-slip handle areas for a solid, secure grip are among the the advantages offered by the WAGO professional cable strippers.

Stripping Pliers for Control and Sensor Cables

  • Quick insulation stripping on sensor/control lines without damage to the individual strands
  • No cable diameter adjustment necessary
  • Easy stripping even over longer distances
  • Long service life, thanks to replaceable cutting blades
  • For sensor/actuator cables, highly flexible TPE-U cables, PUR cables, PUR/PVC cables, PVC cables, shielded and unshielded, multi-core cables

Cable Knives

  • 5 exchangeable cable brackets: one tool for a wide range of diameters (4–70 mm / 12–2/0 AWG)
  • Clamping arm and viewing window for precise round cutting
  • Ergonomic handling with two-component grip
  • No exposed blade means high level of safety during and after work (pockets, toolbox)
  • Variable cable and hook blade settings for different cable types

In-Socket Cable Stripper

  • Extra-long design and improved force transfer simplify stripping of insulation in deep distribution boxes, minimizing the risk of injury.
  • Strips all standard round cables: Ø 8 to 13 mm (1–3/0 AWG) e.g., NYM 3 x 1.5 mm (0.06 in.) to NYM 5 x 2.5 mm (0.098 in.) (PVC- and halogen-free); ground cables up to 5 x 1.5 mm (0.06 in).
  • The novel four-blade design allows a precise cut with less effort.
  • Integrated length scale (interior) for precise wire stripping
  • No manual cutting depth adjustment needed (so no damage to conductor strands)!

Universal Cable Stripper

  • Simple cable guide for quick and easy longitudinal cut; especially expedient for halogen-free conductors
  • Outlined blade for stripping 0.2 to 4.0 mm² (24-12 AWG) wires
  • Universal knife with locking push knob for on-the-job safety
  • Strips all standard round cables: Ø 8 to 13 mm (1-3/0 AWG) e.g., NYM 3 x 1.5 mm (0.06 in.) up to NYM 5 x 2.5 mm (0.098 in.) (PVC- and halogen-free); ground cables up to to 5 x 1.5 mm (0.06 in).
  • The novel four-blade design gives you the most precise cut with less effort.

Data Cable Stripper

  • Faster, easier cable stripping; especially for PVC-insulated data cables with thin insulation (e.g., Cat 5, 6, 7 and 8 twisted-pair cables)
  • One side for stripping the outer insulation and the other for stripping the foil shielding
  • Integrated interior length scale enables precise insulation stripping.
  • The novel two-blade design allows a precise cut with less effort.
  • No need to adjust cut depth to the respective diameter – the specially-set blades cleanly cut through the outer insulation and accurately grip and remove the foil shielding too.

Stripping

Our Quickstrip Vario wire stripper (206-1125) is designed to handle conductors from 0.03 to 16 mm² (32–5 AWG).

  • The automatic wire stripper with integrated cutting function enables fast, smooth conductor handling for a wide range of cross-sections from 0.03 to 16 mm² (32–5 AWG).
  • Adjustable partial stripping – since part of the cut insulation remains at the end of the conductor, nothing else is needed to protect the splice, and this part can be easily pulled off before final connection.
  • No ferrules needed when conductor is connected to a WAGO rail-mounted terminal block with spring pressure connection technology
  • Fine adjustment for removing thin and thick insulation
  • Replacement blades (standard/V/oval blades) can be stored in the special compartment in the handle.

Crimping

Crimping tools like the Variocrimp 4 and 16 complete WAGO’s portfolio of tools. (206-1204 and 206-1216).

  • Automatic adjustment to the conductor cross-section
  • With a squared crimp form, the conductor position needs no unwieldy twisting to connect or disconnect at the clamping point.
  • The jaws of the pliers open automatically after crimping.
  • Conductor and ferrule insertion possible from both sides (for left- and right-handers).
  • Gas-tight crimping ensures secure connections.

Standards-compliant test probes – secure, flexible, precise!

Because of the conductor insulation, typical test probes cannot always be inserted into the rail-mount terminal block test slots. To measure current and voltage in compact terminal blocks, electricians used to need suitable adapters to reach the often narrow test slots with measurement instruments. WAGO now offers the right solution: Optimized test probes with diameter of 2 mm that enable direct and standards-compliant measurement in CAT III and CAT IV applications – without an additional adapter.

  • Current and voltage measurement with no adapter – with the specially developed test probe, test plug adapters are no longer necessary.
  • The especially small removable test probes measure currents up to 10 A.
