UPDATE: Impact of the corona virus for WAGO

Dear Business Partners,

To be clear, we can still be reached and will regularly inform you of the measures we are taking and our ability to deliver during the current situation. During the corona crisis we are basically holding up our response times. In individual cases response times may be slightly longer. We are closely monitoring the dynamic situation regarding the spread of the coronavirus and have taken extensive preventive measures, which we are regularly checking and adjusting. The preventive elements of our pandemic plan cover all locations to protect the health of our employees, to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and to continue to assist you as a business partner in the best possible way. From significant travel and visit restrictions to digital meetings to home office regulations and equalization of workspaces, we are taking these measures to keep the risk of infection as low as possible. Of course, that includes strict hygiene and social distancing in meeting and dining areas. Your WAGO contacts are still available to you without restriction. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

About the current supply situation:

We are maintaining steady communication with all partners in our supply chain to ensure we are informed of any potential effects as soon as possible to quickly respond as needed. Where procurement is concerned, right now we see only isolated shortages and except for a few individual cases, our production stock levels are very strong.

Our central warehouse in Germany naturally operates in strict compliance with the specified pandemic measures, so that we can deliver the ordered goods at the expected WAGO level of quality. If you are not currently able to receive deliveries, please inform us immediately so that we can coordinate delivery at a later date.

We are closely monitoring the current situation and of course, will keep you informed of any new developments that may impact our ability to maintain supply.

In order to respond appropriately to the current dynamic situation regarding the spread of the corona virus, WAGO is intensifying its emergency measures based on our pandemic plan. The preventive actions apply to all locations in order to protect the health of our employees, prevent the spread of the corona virus and continue to perform business operations in the best possible manner.

These include a global travel ban, the change of our meeting culture to force digital meetings, and the extensive reduction of visits by external business partners to our sites.

Furthermore we have introduced additional preventive measures, with a focus on strict obedience to personal hygiene as well as distance regulations in meeting and dining facilities.

With the support of home office regulations (up to 30% of the office area) and the separation of our working spaces, we further mitigate the current situation.

During January and February the bottlenecks became visible due to the production downtimes in Tianjin/China. These can be compensated by switching transport modes from ocean freight to air and railway. More than 90% of our employees in China are back on board.

We pro-actively exchange information with all partners in our supply chain. This helps identify potential impacts as early as possible. From today's perspective we see only occasional shortages from the supply side with the exception of a few individual cases. In general we have a good inventory position for our finished products.

In addition, our goods logistics is been only marginally affected by the current border closures. Our central warehouse in Germany is operating in strict compliance with the specified pandemic measures. We deliver ordered goods in the usual WAGO quality. Please note whether there are regional restrictions or impairments such as quarantine zones in your require delivery location. Please inform us immediately if deliveries to your location are currently not possible and we should postpone them to a later delivery date.

We are observing the current situation closely and will keep you informed about the development in case of any significant impact on our delivery service.

Herewith we would like to inform you about the effects of the coronavirus on our business.

We are following the recommendations and guidelines of the authorities to contain the coronavirus and have taken appropriate measures. Our plant in China, Tianjin, 1200 kilometers from the metropolis of Wuhan, resumed production on February 21, 2020 after successful inspection by the local authorities. In calendar week 10, 90 percent of production capacity was again reached. The aim is to have the full production capacity in calendar week 11.

Currently, the spread of the coronavirus has only had a low impact on our business activities. At present, goods are still arriving by sea. At present we are still able to compensate production losses by switching freight routes from sea freight to air freight. Furthermore, we are in communication with all partners in our supply chain to keep informed about possible effects at an early stage and to be able to react. At present, we do not see any serious effects beyond very less individual cases here.

For WAGO, we are taking appropriate precautions based on our pandemic plan to minimize the risk of the virus spreading to our employees worldwide.

We are closely monitoring the current situation and will keep you informed of developments should there be any impact on our ability to supply.
