Flexible and Reliable Processing of Process Data

The WAGO I/O System 750 as an Interface Master

As digitalization continues its advance, control cabinets are distinguished by increasingly compact designs. Among the factors making this possible is the use of modular components that can be individually integrated into a control cabinet and extended. One important element of this digital transformation is modular and open I/O systems for space-saving, customizable and flexible control technology. I/O modules unite the standard rail-mount terminal block design with the advantages of fieldbus technology. They record all relevant process data and provide them to higher-level systems in digital form. And the development continues advancing:

With over five hundred different modules, the WAGO I/O System 750 offers superior versatility and flexibility – it can process data and supports interfaces and protocols for worldwide networking.

WAGO I/O System 750:
Interface Master for Every Application

WAGO's remote I/O System 750 is the decentralized peripheral for all applications in the control cabinet: With over five hundred I/O modules and fieldbus couplers and controllers, it offers all functions needed for full automation.

Conversion from Physics in Bits and Bytes!

The WAGO I/O System 750 completes the step from analog to digital signal and data processing. It can communicate with nearly any ETHERNET-based communication protocol and convert physical values (e.g., temperature) into electronic values.

Overview of the WAGO I/O System 750:

  • I/O System 750: IP20 for the control cabinet
  • I/O System 750 XTR: IP20 for the control cabinet and extreme conditions

Cross-Sector Applicability:

  • Industrial and mechanical engineering
  • Building automation
  • Energy generation and distribution
  • Marine and onshore/offshore automation
  • Process automation

I/O System Data Transfer to the Cloud

Record Data − Digitalize – Profit through Networking

WAGO Controllers combine the vast possibilities of PFC technology with the I/O System 750. A simple software extension transforms the PFC100 and PFC200 into IoT gateways that transmit data from the field level to the cloud. This way, machines, systems and building data can be used for monitoring and analysis in the cloud:

  • All relevant information at a glance – regardless of location
  • Recognition of optimization potential
  • Change initiated immediately

Collected data can be evaluated directly, displayed graphically and made available to the cloud Deciding which cloud system to send the data to via MQTT is left up to the operator – for example, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, IBM Cloud or SAP Cloud

Cybersecurity: Secure Data Storage and Transfer

  • To establish secure HTTP and FTPS connections, the SSH and SSL/TLS encryption methods are integrated into both PFC100 and PFC200 Controllers as standard functions.

  • Firewall and use of protected VPN tunnel for additional protection from unwanted access

From the WAGO Cloud to the Control Cabinet via Remote Access

Remote Access makes it possible to remotely access the control cabinet without changing anything in the program code. Connection to the field level is performed by the WAGO I/O System 750; WAGO Controllers from the PFC family establish the connection to the WAGO Cloud.

First, the controller must be created in the cloud and the access parameters set in the controller. The e!COCKPIT-based visualization can directly access the local Web-Based-Management (WBM) or the local e!COCKPIT-based visualization from the WAGO Cloud.

Registration via the WAGO Cloud

1. Download

Download the Remote Access Beta software from the WAGO homepage and unpack the ZIP.

2. Log-in

Log in to the WAGO cloud: The device is created here, and the necessary credentials are copied from the controller to the Web-Based Management (WBM). Then activate and save the service.

3. Installation

Install the file (in IPK format) from Step 1 via the WBM. After completing these steps, reboot the controller.

4. Remote access

As the last step, log in to the WAGO Cloud and access the WBM or the e!COCKPIT-based visualization via remote access.
