The PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) stores and transmits measurement data to the control center every second. Through the remote control protocol IEC 60870-5-104, data from medium voltage, the transformer, low voltage feeders, status messages, and temperatures find their way to the control center – securely, in compliance with KRITIS (Critical Infrastructure), in the cloud or on-premise.

This allows users to see relevant grid parameters at a glance to optimize expansion strategies – without additional programming efforts through simple parameterization. The WAGO Grid Monitoring App is already included in the WAGO Solutions Platform and provides accurate, detailed overviews of currents, transformer load and feeder data in real-time. Operation within a closed network is possible, ensuring highly secure usage. The visualization is intuitive. Even greater transparency is provided by the load flow analysis for calculating voltages and currents throughout the distribution network, which is available as an option.

The WAGO Grid Stabilizer is a practical solution for fulfilling the requirements of § 14a EnWG (German Energy Act). This application supports safe grid operation – even in high-load scenarios. It utilizes measurement data from the digital substation and intelligent measurement systems for grid status determination and enables real-time analysis of the utilization of all grid components. Based on this data, stabilizing control interventions can be carried out to address grid bottlenecks with controllable consumers, such as heat pumps or wall boxes. Additionally, the WAGO Grid Stabilizer offers visualization and documentation functions for analyzing grid bottlenecks. As part of the WAGO Solutions Platform, the solution can also be operated on-premises, making it adaptable to current grid requirements.
