Safe, Stable Connection with the 2065 Series SMD PCB Terminal Block

Thanks to its flexible substrate and individual cutting options, Tridonic’s LLE Flex CC LED module offers a high degree of design freedom for use in profile and linear luminaires. It includes WAGO’s 2065 Series SMD PCB Terminal Block for safe, stable wiring.
Light is of central importance to human beings. After all, we need it everywhere: at home, for work, for shopping and for recreation. Linear LED modules permit the placement of targeted lighting accents. Thanks to the uniformity of their illumination, LED modules are ideal for any workplace, such as offices, restaurants and production facilities. As a supplier of intelligent, efficient lighting solutions, Tridonic has developed the LLE Flex CC, a flexible LED module that includes WAGO technology – specifically, a 2065 Series SMD PCB Terminal Block for fast, safe wiring of the LED module on the LED driver. The history of Tridonic, an Austrian firm, began in 1956, when they developed a compact magnetic ballast. Today, the company sells interior and exterior lighting solutions in more than 50 countries around the world. Overview of WAGO Technology Used:

High Degree of Design Freedom Thanks to Flexible Substrate and Cutting Options

The LLE Flex CC LED module is used in profile and linear luminaires made from extruded aluminum or sheet metal, as are commonly found in office buildings and educational institutions. The light strips are particularly well suited to decorative lighting in furnishings, or for indirect or accent lighting. The LED strip can be cut every 140 mm, so it can be tailored to the optimal length for the specific luminaire. With its flexible substrate and adjustable length, the LED module can be attached in luminaires with round, oval or irregular shapes for a high degree of design freedom. 16 LEDs per 140 millimeter segment are attached to the substrate, ensuring a homogeneous light pattern. The linear LED module can be linked into and controlled by a smart building system or building automation system via an LED driver from Tridonic or any other supplier.

Color Temperatures from Warm to Neutral White

The linear LED module, with a length of up to 25 meters and width of up to 14 mm, is easy to install at the desired location using the integrated adhesive tape, which weatherproof and offers long-term stability. When installed, the LED provides 1,250 lumens. It is available in different color temperatures of 2,700, 3,000, 3,500 and 4,000 kelvins to provide light ranging from warm to neutral white, tailored to the specific installation location. The LLE Flex CC guarantees a high color rendering index between Ra > 80 and Ra > 90, as well as narrow color tolerance in a 3-step MacAdam ellipse. The narrow luminous flux tolerance ensure that the light from the LED module spreads out uniformly in all directions.

Technicians have two wiring options for connecting to the LED drivers. The wires can be soldered to the LED module, or the variant with the preassembled, low-profile WAGO terminal block – the 2065 Series SMD PCB Terminal Block – can be used for easy, safe, shadow-free wiring.

Minimizing Shadowing

The WAGO SMD PCB Terminal Blocks are pre-mounted every 280 millimeters on the Tridonic light strip. This allows fast and easy wiring without soldering. The very flat design of the 2065 Series, with a height of only 2.7 millimeters, prevents unwanted shadows, which is a clear advantage in lighting technology. Yet despite their small size, the 2065 Series SMD PCB Terminal Blocks offer space for connection cross-sections of up to 0.75 mm² or 18 AWG for solid and fine-stranded conductors, making the 2065 Series ideal for LED modules. Solid conductors can be terminated by simply pushing them in, thanks to the CAGE CLAMP® connection. Fine-stranded conductors can be terminated by the electrician using an operating tool. In addition, all conductor types are easy to remove as needed using the operating tool; if rewiring becomes necessary, this makes it much easier.

High Contact Reliability with WAGO

The WAGO SMD PCB Terminal Block is securely and stably mounted on the LLE Flex CC LED module. A major benefit of the WAGO SMD PCB Terminal Block is the contact reliability it provides. The conductor is always secured within the module with maximum reliability, while the quality of solder points can vary. In addition, wiring with WAGO SMD PCB Terminal Blocks is faster than manual wiring and thus saves time.

In summary: WAGO’s 2065 Series SMD PCB Terminal Blocks make connecting Tridonic’s LLE Flex CC LED Modules safe and easy. The PCB terminal blocks are mounted stably on the flexible substrate and cast no shadows thanks to their low installation height; this is a significant benefit for the quality of the light the LED module provides.
