WAGO Levers for Single Pair Ethernet

Data transmission via PCB connection technology solves the pluggable connector interface problem.

A shades move down as soon as the sun’s light causes glare and back up again when a cloud moves in front of it – doors open as soon as someone comes near them, and the light turns on automatically when you walk down the hall – all these intelligent building controls require data transmission. Single Pair Ethernet is an especially appropriate option for fast data transmission.

WAGO PCB Connection for Single Pair Ethernet:

  • An ETHERNET connection with only two twisted copper wires conserves resources
  • Tool-free wiring: especially convenient Single Pair Ethernet installation thanks to lever and push-button

Six IP20 pluggable interfaces that are standardized for Single Pair Ethernet connections are currently available on the market. “The worst case scenario would be one where, even when exclusively using products that follow the standard, users repeatedly find themselves with either the wrong plug or the wrong socket,” says Marco Henkel, describing the disadvantage of having many different pluggable connector interfaces. This is exactly where WAGO comes in with its 2601 and 2086 Series PCB Terminal Blocks and picoMAX®Pluggable Connection System.

They are qualified per IEC 63171 and offer an especially simple connection process for Single Pair Ethernet, since no special plug is required. “Just trim the conductor to the appropriate length, strip the insulation, insert it into the PCB terminal block and it’s ready to go,” says Viktor Dick, Produkt Manager for PCB Connections at WAGO, explaining the process of wiring a Single Pair Ethernet connection. The advantage of this type of wiring is that it eliminates the problem of different pluggable connector interfaces. “The best plug is the one you don’t need!” explains Viktor Dick.

WAGO’s 2601 and 2086 Series PCB Terminal Blocks and the picoMAX® Pluggable Connection System now also transfer data via Single Pair Ethernet.
