Connexion cloud simple

Bien souvent, la transmission de données à partir de machines et d'installations directement vers une solution sur le cloud est trop consommatrice de ressources et n'est pas réalisable en raison des temps de latence courts exigés dans l'environnement industriel. L'edge computing ou informatique en périphérie de réseau est un concept bien établi, qui allie les avantages des architectures cloud décentralisées et ceux d'une architecture réseau locale.

Les données collectées peuvent être analysées directement sur les appareils périphériques, représentées sous forme de graphiques et mises à la disposition du cloud WAGO. Le transfert peut être utile, par exemple, pour des données particulièrement critiques. Les deux nouveaux appareils présentent également des avantages lorsque les données doivent être mises en mémoire tampon, par exemple dans les applications mobiles. Ils sont également basés sur du matériel compatible avec l'armoire de commande, peuvent être alimentés en 24 V et sont donc parfaitement adaptés à l'environnement d'automatisation.

Container virtualisation via Docker® opens up the possibility of isolating applications from a local infrastructure and thus providing software faster, easier and more securely. How can the advantages of Docker® be used even more easily with Edge Computing?

In the video, Jonathan Malessa, OPC Router Team Leader at the company inray, and Michael Drost, WAGO System Consultant Industry, demonstrate the procedure: They run the WAGO Controller PFC200 together with the OPC Router as a Docker® container on a single WAGO Edge computer. Instead of having to install the OPC Router on its own dedicated server in the network, it is simply deployed as a Docker® container on the edge computer and is immediately ready to run. The advantages of this solution are obvious: in addition to the costs for the hardware, the effort for installation, maintenance, updates and ensuring security is eliminated. Take a look!
