Connection Technology for Hazardous Areas

The 221 Series Splicing Connector for hazardous areas offers entirely new design possibilities, particularly for the manufacturers of distribution boxes, terminal boxes, lights or electronic devices.

The light gray “Ex protection” version also retains all the advantages of the 221 Series. As an all-purpose terminal block of ignition protection type Ex e (“Increased Safety”) it can be used for all applications in zones 1 and 2.

The 221 Series connectors can be used in a wide range of applications, not only because they are available as 2-, 3- or 5-conductor terminal blocks, but also because of the different versions: The 4 mm2 version of the 221 Series allows you to use fine-stranded conductors from 0.2 to 4 mm2, while the mm2 version connects all conductor types from 0.5 to 6 mm2 (20–10 AWG).
