11 employees, flexibility and high visibility on the market: Josef Riffner, CEO of Rihatec, has marketed his solutions for over 23 years now. It began with the idea of manufacturing all types and sizes of control cabinets, controllers and terminals blocks reliably. Flexibility and reliability remain core values of the company to this day. Josef Riffner handles project acquisition and project planning, and his son Philipp Riffner takes care of the finances – a family that works as a team. Riffner has worked with WAGO for over 30 years, and one thing is clear: “I’ve been a WAGO fan for over 30 years.” In the current project, a higher-level controller controls 250 DC drives, either sequentially or simultaneously. The drives are designed to plug into the motor, and the customer connects them itself in the control cabinet. And that’s where the WAGO TOPJOB® S Rail-Mount Terminal Blocks with Levers come in.

Lower Error Rates
Connecting 250 motors without errors is a challenge, and the risk of installation error is high. “The handling of the new TOPJOB® S Rail-Mount Terminal Blocks with Levers is very simple and straightforward,” explains Riffner. The lever stays open, freeing both hands. Above all, that is an advantage because technology projects often require changing the connections. “This is quicker and more cost-effective for the customer, since we don’t always need to be on site,” says Riffner. The error rate has fallen significantly in recent months: “Insert the conductor, lower the lever, and that’s it. WAGO’s new rail-mount terminal block is the star attraction of its portfolio” – Riffner is convinced. Two WAGO Smart Printer thermal transfer printers are also used to make marking even easier. “Our mechanics can tell immediately that motor 1 is connected there. Everything is clearly defined with plain text markings. This also eliminates time-consuming searching through circuit diagrams,” says Riffner in summary. The marking allows easy, correct connection -- from motor 1 to 250 in this seminal technology project!

Intuitive Handling
In their everyday work, the new rail-mount terminal blocks from WAGO help Riffner and his employees in many situations. “The world is changing for good. Mechanics need to handle more and more electronic work, but are not even always trained for this. Thanks to the innovative handling of TOPJOB® S Rail-Mount Terminal Blocks with Levers, no more errors occur,” says Riffner. Rihatec too has to compete for the best experts and trainees. “We have fewer and fewer technical trainees. It’s a real problem,” says Riffner. With its intuitive operation, the new rail-mount terminal block helps alleviate this problem, since all employees can operate it quickly and easily – without any tools.
Rihatec plans to use the new TOPJOB® S Rail-Mount Terminal Blocks with Levers in further projects as well. “We save time and money on both sides, both ours and the customer’s, which is terrific,“ concludes Riffner.
