Personal Development and Lifelong Learning

Where are you headed? Whatever your career goal at WAGO, we help you prepare for it and support you on your way there. That’s one of the reasons so many people are eager to join us, stay with us and grow with us.

Career Prospects

Three Paths to Further Development:

Taking on leadership responsibility: Good management is so much more than just being “in charge.” In a leadership role at WAGO, you’ll support your employees on their journey of personal and professional development. To ensure your success as a new team lead, we offer talent promotion that works for you.

Taking on a project management role: As a project manager, you’re responsible for planning, implementation and wrap-up for specific projects. WAGO encourages you to take on increasingly complex projects, on either a full-time or part-time basis.

Expanding your technical responsibility: As an expert, you’ll lead technical working groups and become the contact person for in-depth issues. You’ll share your expertise and ideas with your colleagues to keep the entire team moving forward. Along the way, WAGO promotes your team skills and communication skills and encourages solution-oriented action.

Because goals can change:

Of course, in both your professional and personal lives, if your focus changes, you can adjust your career orientation and focus on new or different goals. Here too, it all starts with a positive, open dialogue.

Leadership

How We Promote Leadership

“STEP FORWARD” is the WAGO development program for new managers: a continuation of our talent programs with content tailored to WAGO, covering leadership, management and business administration. The focus is on developing your own understanding of leadership and applying the content directly in your day-to-day work.

  • Interdisciplinary communication with other participants
  • Networking within the company beyond the program
  • Lively dialog on leadership at WAGO
  • Active support from your own superiors

Personal Development

Identifying and Developing Talent at Every Level

The mindset of personal development* – that’s where it all begins, with responsibility, curiosity and openness. Across all career paths, our potential development interviews build on these traits. In them, we work with you to identify the best way to take advantage of our company’s internal mentoring for your independent, individualized further development.

We support you through experience-based learning (“push to pull”), development workshops offered by external trainers and the opportunity to consolidate new methods in the talent network.

Our talent program includes the following aspects:

  • Innovation management and change management
  • Lateral leadership
  • Using collaboration tools
  • Stress management and resilience
  • Joint talent workshops

Training and Education

You’re Never Done Learning!

Everyone talks about lifelong learning – we actually help make it a success. Our working environment is changing day by day, year by year; at WAGO, we provide a variety of continuing education opportunities to help you keep pace. They are based on WAGO’s own competency model, which applies to all employees, so everyone here can take advantage of them.

After all, we’ve almost all had to deal with challenges like

a new operating system that suddenly looks very different, a new device that alters the old workflow or new collaborative options for connecting with team members from a variety of locations. There’s always something new to learn – and we learn it together.
