Terminal Strips for the Energy Market

Whether in accordance with the Technical Connection Conditions (TAB), Section 14a of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG), or Section 9 of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) — WAGO offers preassembled terminal strips for the energy market. All products are coordinated with the respective grid operators and fully approved without restrictions:

Fast and Hassle-Free Grid Connection — Per TAB, Section 9 of the EEG or Section 14a of the EnWG

No time-consuming self-assembly, no approval uncertainty, and fewer inspection errors — that’s precisely what our preassembled transformer disconnect terminal strips deliver. These terminal strips comply with the Technical Connection Conditions (TAB) of various grid operators. We also offer control signal terminal strips for controllable consumption and generation units, as defined in Section 14a of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG) and Section 9 of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG). The color-coded terminal block design and up to three-line marking strips minimize mistakes during transformer measurement, testing, and maintenance. And upon request, the labeling can include a QR code that links directly to the circuit diagram.

Pre-Assembled Transformer Disconnect Terminal Strips per TCR

The TCRs (Technical Connection Requirements) issued by grid operators specify how electrical systems at the grid connection point must be constructed. For transformer systems (typically above 100 A), a transformer disconnect terminal strip per TAB (Item No. 821-2xx) is mandatory. WAGO’s pre-assembled transformer disconnect terminal strips ensure safe, standard-compliant, and uninterrupted execution of measurement, testing, and maintenance on transformer systems.

Control Signal Terminal Strip per Section 9 EEG for Controllable Generation Units

Section 9 of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) requires operators of generation plants — such as photovoltaic systems or combined heat and power units (CHPs) — to make their systems remotely controllable by the grid operator or direct marketer. For existing systems with a rated power exceeding 25 kW, the feed-in power must be reduced to 70 %. Suppose no intelligent controller or EZA (generation plant) controller is available to perform this function. In that case, WAGO's relay terminal strip (item no. 821-5xx) provides the legally required remote control and feed-in management per Section 9 EEG. It serves as a practical, standards-compliant system interface.

Control Signal Terminal Strip per Section 14a EnWG for Controllable Consumption Devices

Section 14a of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG) applies to controllable consumption devices — such as charging stations and heat pumps — enabling grid operators to relieve their networks and remotely control consumers in a grid-supportive manner when needed. WAGO’s 821-5xx Relay Terminal Strips provide standards-compliant controllability to Section 14a EnWG, serving as the technical interface to the grid operator.
