Since basically everything we do in the business environment is based on information, WAGO counts information security among the most important strategic tasks. The secure handling of information protects company values and directly affects business success and further growth.

Information security's relevance is increasing due to digitalization and the rise of the networking of data, systems and machines – effective protection mechanisms are indispensable for IT security. Therefore, our value creation processes are aligned with modern security standards and consistently optimized to make them resilient.

We pursue the goal of protecting sensitive information of any kind: In addition to operational and business secrets and strategic data, we protect personal information and other expertise processed by WAGO – regardless of format. Information security includes physical and verbal information in addition to electronic information.

Our goal is to adequately secure all information assets against unlawful access, theft, loss, unauthorized disclosure, misuse, unwanted change and destruction. We achieve this by pursuing the three main goals of information security with our Information Security Management System: confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.

WAGO operates a global Information Security Management System (ISMS), which defines our guidelines, processes, measures and tools and supports the executive board, managers and employees in systematically protecting information. As a customer-centric company, we have an eye not only on our own, but also on the specific requirements of our customers and business partners.

The far-reaching measures of our ISMS are preventive in order to eliminate risks to information security in the first place and provide appropriate protection. In addition, WAGO has implemented monitoring measures that enable an effective response to vulnerabilities and attacks.

Our global Information Security Management System is based on the ISO/IEC 27001 standard – it is constantly being further developed by our Corporate Information Security Officer (CISO), as well as reviewed and approved by management. This allows us to take a comprehensive look at the current security situation and to adapt quickly and effectively to constantly changing demands.

Our security standards, which are verified through ISO 27001 certification, also allow us to work with critical infrastructure companies that must comply with increased legal requirements when designing their IT systems.

Within our ISMS framework, we address six security areas to address potential risks directly where they occur:

• IT security – secure information in office IT networks and systems

• Supplier security – secure information throughout the procurement and supply chain

• OT security – protected information in production and engineering networks and systems

• Product safety – protecting our products according to the state of the art based on the needs of our customers

• Physical security – protecting information at sites, buildings and offices

• Security awareness – continuous awareness of information security risks among employees

Our Corporate Information Security Officer is responsible for the ISMS framework: This person determines the security levels at WAGO and defines specific requirements, risk levels and standards. Tactical and technical solutions interact for effective attack monitoring and defense.

With our Information Security Management System, we ensure comprehensive protection of information values. The holistic approach is advantageous for our international customers and business partners:

Certifications require quality: We have independent, accredited institutions regularly monitor the effectiveness of our security measures. We want to demonstrate transparently that internal and external information at WAGO is protected effectively and according to modern standards:

The ISO/IEC 27001:2017 certification from WAGO has been confirmed annually by TÜV Süd since 2019. The international standard certifies the documentation, implementation and effectiveness of our Information Security Management System – you can view the certificate here:
